Community Manager

Job Description

You will be leading all efforts to drive community engagement at Impact Hub Dhaka by bringing together members, partners, entrepreneurship ecosystem builders and enablers, collaborators from different sectors from across Bangladesh to create a vibrant community of social innovation enthusiasts. You will need a deep understanding and alignment with our organization’s vision, mission, and purpose of offering inspiring workspaces, community-led events, entrepreneurship support programs, and consulting services to excel in this role.

        Essential Responsibilities

        • Ideate and implement creative methods of acquiring new clients, onboarding new members by providing necessary resources, and addressing queries or concerns promptly, and engaging with current members through events and engagements for community building to increase member satisfaction and retention, and foster a collaborative environment.
        • Design and execute online and onsite events such as conferences, forums, panels, boot camps, community meetups, etc. in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to cultivate strong relationships with members, programme participants, partners, etc. and deliver successful outcomes and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh.
        • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive sales of membership, offices and event space by scouting potential clients and conducting tours to give them a taste of the coworking experience, updating membership offers according to new trends and demands based on market research, and ensuring retention of members by identifying and responding to members' needs.
        • Assist the team with planning and execution of Impact Hub Dhaka’s consulting services to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Bangladesh within the committed timeline to achieve project objectives, deliver expected outcomes, and fulfil stakeholders’ expectations.
        • Manage relationships with current members and partners, as well as relevant individuals and institutions in the start-up ecosystem across the public, private and social impact sectors, including local and informal community groups to attract business development opportunities for Impact Hub Dhaka.
        • Support the team with curating stories from local members and partners, as well as Impact Hub’s regional and global networks to publish on print, digital, and social media platforms to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
        • Engage with communities in our regional and global Impact Hub network to connect and learn from other community builders and share back the learning with the team and members at Impact Hub Dhaka to continuously improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
        • Support the management team as needed to ensure we deliver our commitments to members, clients, partners, customers, and all other stakeholders of Impact Hub Dhaka.

            Qualifications

              • At least 5 years of work experience in community building, stakeholder engagement, project management, events and hospitality in fast-paced organizations, with progressive experience in managing people and projects.
              • Sound knowledge of and enthusiasm for the social economy and value-driven businesses.
              • Strong understanding of operational procedures and processes, and prior experience of event planning and execution onsite and online.
              • Outstanding communication skills and fluency in both English and Bangla languages.
              • Strong interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills proven through effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders in Bangladesh and beyond.
              • Excellent organizational skills to manage a complex and multifaceted workload, and the ability to effectively prioritise competing tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while paying full attention to details.
              • A self-driven individual with strong strategic thinking skills, a proven ability to think critically and creatively, and a knack for continuous learning and professional development.
              • Affinity and experience in working with dynamic teams, including aspiring and established entrepreneurs, as well as domain experts in Bangladesh and beyond.
              • Ability to travel within Bangladesh frequently, including occasionally on weekends.
              • A university degree from a reputed national or international university is required.

                    • Time commitment: Full time, paid role for 40 hours per week from Sunday to Thursday
